FALLS AND FALLS WITH INJURY
At Holy Family Hospital our staff is committed to ensuring the safety of all patients. In November, 2006, our Falls Team implemented a Red Socks Patient Falls Prevention Program. The program was rolled out and included several educational programs for all hospital employees. We believe that fall prevention is everyone’s responsibility. All patients are assessed by their primary nurse on admission and at least twice daily for their potential for fall risk. Interventions are applied based on the protocol. Staff receive ongoing education annually and at orientation.
In addition the hospital has invested in state of the art beds, including safety bed alarms, throughout all patient care units. At Holy Family Hospital, we consistently focus on patient safety.
